Even with a simple idea like a flor de lis, a custom Toms design can come out really amazing.

Close up of one of my pieces in tonight’s show, I love you dear Monster. The show is put on by SocietyPromotions.

Shows is during 7-10pm at Sharab Lounge on Main street. (Google Map here.) This is the 2nd annual edition of the monster love themed show.

Last year’s show was a blast. It was our inaugural show at The Exchange. I bought a piece by Ron McVicar of these two gnarly monsters slow dancing. It still hangs proudly. Ron is in this year’s show, as well Jacob Adams, Katie Levy, Mike McVicar, Josh Pusey and myself. Visit the Facebook Page for optional rsvp and information. Hope you make it out.
Below it are thumbnails for close ups of the images of the pieces.
Humancomputer is Roberto Evans’ [my] street art/illustrative side. Often, they are illustrations of robots & creatures in their day to day life, often faced with human-like predicaments and thought patterns. The projection of human emotion makes it easier to accept and allows the viewer to be a spectator of something they themselves have experienced.

…The Laboratory is located where Fluid Skate Shop once was, next to The Emporium (formally HearAgainMusic). They got probably my favorite sandwiches and tacos in town. The Opening is paired up with The Lab’s complimentary monthly wine tastineg. Show hangs during the month of September.
The closing reception is THIS Thursday! Come out for some bites and wine on the house, and enjoy some awesome local art. Art will be available for purchase this night, and if you have purchased a piece it can go home with you this night. It should be fun, I’m really looking forward to it.

If you’re not familiar with The Jones, you should aquaint yourself for their awesome food. Aside from that, its also where you can find my latest seres, Vernacular Lines.
In this series I was heavily inspired by the raw materials I’ve been using in the remodels of my store. Their presence can be seen in the pieces with the appearance of wood, chipboard, plexi, astro turf and hardware. Through it all I wanted to capture a sense of Gainesville in its architecture, vibe, and spontaneity.
The Jones is located on East 23rd Avenue across from Mama Mia Pizza, just of Main Street, open every day 8am-10pm.
The show is up during the month of June, closing reception on the 24th, Thursday evening.
